ACTIVITIES

For over 23 years, African Arts has proudly supported and connected communities through cultural, educational, wellbeing, and community-led programmes made possible through grants and local partnerships.

Our work includes providing immigration advice and support to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK, while creating welcoming activities for children, young people, adults, and older members of the BME community.

Our programmes have included:
• Day trips for young people and older people across the UK
• Physical and recreational activities for young people
• Creative writing and reading workshops
• Drama, comedy, and theatre activities
• Dance, drumming, singing, and performing arts programmes led by young people
• Community wellbeing activities helping young and older people recover socially after the Covid-19 pandemic
• Money management and life skills training
• Anti-smoking awareness campaigns
• Youth crime prevention initiatives
• Counselling and advice workshops on preventing the spread of Covid-19
• Covid-19 vaccination awareness campaigns

From visits to museums, beaches, libraries, and attractions such as London Zoo to creative workshops and cultural celebrations, our activities aim to bring joy, confidence, learning, and connection to the community.

We remain passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where people of all ages feel supported, inspired, and part of a stronger community.
